Classroom Management: Class Rules Goals Procedures Rewards and Incentives Consequences
Procedures
Jobs on the Set:
Every student will get a chance take part in classroom jobs that will rotate weekly. This will help the class run more smoothly and give the students a sense of responsibility in the classroom.

Here’s what’s popping up: (Classroom Information-on a popcorn bulletin board.)
Students will know to look here for school calendar, lunch menu, and birthdays along with other important classroom information.
Marquee Daily Schedule:
To avoid questions like, what are we doing today? There will be a “Coming Attractions” marquee where the schedule of the day will be posted. In the beginning of the day, we will quickly go over that schedule.
VIP Bathroom Passes:
There will be one or two scheduled class bathroom breaks during the school day. However, if a student needs to go during class they are allowed to go one at a time. Each student will need to carry the VIP lanyard bathroom pass when they leave to get a drink or use the bathroom. If this privilege is taken advantage of it will be taken away.
Lights, Camera, Kindergarten:
This would be the theme for my classroom newsletter that I would send out to the parents. It’s a great way to communicate what we’re doing in the classroom.
Super Star of the Week:
Each child will have the opportunity to be the star of the week. It will consist of each day of the week having an exciting event or activity to honor him or her. This will be a great way to get to know the students and build community in the classroom.
Opening Credits:
Each day their will be directions on the board for morning work. Students will work on the activity for about ten to fifteen minutes and then the work will be discussed as a class. During that time, attendance and lunch choices will be taken.
Closing Credits:
To help students become more independent, there will be a chart with optional activities for students to complete when they finish their work. Bell work sheets will be in a folder next to the chart.
STAR Notebooks:
The homework and sight words will be discussed and written in their assignment notebooks. This notebook will travel back and forth to and from school to help them remember what they need to be working on. It’s also a great way to communicate with parents.
Concessions:
Students make their lunch choices at the concessions area each morning by moving their clothespin to the correct star plate for the day.
Fan Mail:
Students will have cubbies that they can turn in homework. Also it will be a place where I can hand back assignments and important papers. They will collect them daily and put them in their take home folders.
Partner Clocks:
The students each receive a blank clock. They have to find on partner for each of the times on their clock. For example, if Jimmy and Billy wanted to be partners, they would both agree on a time on their clock and write each other’s names on the line next to that time. When everyone has filled out their clock, I laminate them and tape them onto the top of their tables. When the students need to work with a partner, I simply have to call out a time... “Find your three o’ clock partner” or “Find your ten o’ clock partner”…and viola! The students get right to work without worrying about who they are going to be with.
Studios:
The class will be split into table groups. They will each be labeled with a name and have a basket filled with all the supplies they will need. The names of the tables will be: DreamWorks, Paramount, MGM, and Pixar.
Lining Up:
For specials, lunch or other activities students will be called upon within their table groups. The line leader for the week may make their way to the front of the line after his or her table group is called. Before leaving the classroom, the teacher will begin a song chant for students to sing along to: “Put your hands in the air like you just don’t care. (Woot, woot, woot, woot). Put your hands down low; way down low. Put your hands in the middle and wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. (wiggle, wiggle, wiggle) Put your hands behind your back; get ready to go!
